DIY- How to paint flowers with only Water Color

Materials: Water Colors, Paint Brush(es), Water, Paper and Tissues.

Pick a color from your color palette. Make sure this color is bright and pleasant.

You can use a copy paper but using water color paper is highly recommended for better results. On the sheet of paper, paint a "U" and then add strokes inside it. Remember that with water colors, it's all about letting loose of the brush.

To add highlights to the flower, use a darker shade of the same color and create same kind of strokes you did previously (if you don't have a darker shade, just add a little bit of black to your current shade).

Blend the strokes with a lighter shade to even out the ends.

Give a finishing touch to your flowers by adding a little detail like shown in the picture above.

Clear of your paintbrush before painting the stem and take off excess paint with tissues. Use a light shade of green like Jade. Like I said before, let your brush loose for water colors.

Just run a straight line to paint the stem. The leaves may take some practice but to start off, paint tiny stokes of the same color that go downwards.

Give it a little shading by adding a few strokes of a darker shade and there you have it!
Paint as many as you want.

These can make a good cover for a card or an invitation and are fairly simple to paint.
